Expert Roofers in Leicester

A City Steeped in History

Leicester is one of the oldest cities in England, with a history stretching back over 2,000 years. Founded as the Roman settlement of Ratae Corieltauvorum, it became an important administrative and military centre. Remains of Roman baths and forums can still be found beneath the modern city, a reminder of its ancient origins.

The Medieval Boom

During the medieval period Leicester grew into a thriving market town, renowned for its wool trade and textile industry. The magnificent Leicester Cathedral, originally built in the 11th century, stands as a testament to this era and is the final resting place of King Richard III, whose remains were famously discovered beneath a city car park in 2012.

The Industrial Revolution & Beyond

The 19th century saw Leicester transform into a powerhouse of industry, particularly in hosiery, footwear, and engineering. The city expanded rapidly, with rows of Victorian terraces and factories shaping the skyline. Today, Leicester is a vibrant, multicultural city that blends its rich heritage with modern development — and its diverse housing stock keeps our roofing team busy year-round.
